Why You Should Visit
A seafood festival gathering catches from across Japan — tuna, salmon, crab, oysters, sea urchin and salmon roe. Alongside kaisen-don rice bowls, regional dishes and fishermen's cooking, you'll find seafood ramen and seafood okonomiyaki. The concurrent "Fukushima Festival" serves kaisen-don made with Joban-mono — Fukushima-caught flounder and blackthroat seaperch — plus sweets built on local passion fruit and other specialty produce. A stage hosts live music, comedy and bingo, and there are inflatable play structures for kids, so you can spend the whole day on the plaza in view of the Tower of the Sun.
