Why You Should Visit

Q LIMINAL is an immersive walk-through experience that drops you into the Backrooms, the urban legend born on the internet. For ten days at EXPOCITY Hall in Suita, you explore a seemingly endless space of humming fluorescent lights and blank walls for about 30 minutes, using a dedicated app on your own smartphone. Scan the QR codes scattered around and decode the strange symbols and shapes left behind to raise your "exploration rate." The September run at Sunshine City in Tokyo drew more than 7,000 visitors in ten days. A good indoor pick for fans of horror, puzzles and liminal spaces.

NOTE

How it works

  • Install the dedicated app on your own smartphone (no devices are lent out)
  • Scan QR codes inside the venue and use symbols and shapes as clues to raise your exploration rate

About the venue

  • No Wi-Fi inside; you use your own mobile data
  • No cloakroom or restrooms inside the venue
  • No re-entry once you leave

※Make sure your phone is well charged
