Miki Kanamono (Hardware) Festival 2026

Why You Should Visit

Miki, a city famous for its metalware and tools, holds this autumn festival every November; it began as a hardware trade fair in 1952. Centred on Mikiyama Sogo Park, local makers display and sell Miki-made kitchen knives, saws, chisels, planes and plastering trowels directly, and traditional craft techniques are shown up close. There is also the "Kanamono Eagle", a sculpture built from around 3,000 pieces of hardware, plus stage shows, local street-food stalls and an agriculture fair. Around 160,000 people come each year, and it makes a full day out for tool lovers and families alike.

The nearest station is Ebisu on the Kobe Electric Railway. In 2026 a direct shuttle bus will run between the ACN golf tournament venue and the main venue. By car, use the designated festival car parks (the temporary lot at the Mikiyama Sogo Park athletics stadium costs ¥1,000 per day).

FAQ

Can I drive? Where do I park?

Eight designated festival car parks are listed: the Mikiyama Sogo Park athletics stadium lot (paid, ¥1,000 per day, re-entry allowed), AEON Miki, Miki Honmachi, Michi-no-Eki Miki, the multipurpose ground, Mikiyama Forest Park, Miki City Hall and Miki Higashi Junior High School. The stadium lot became paid from 2026. Parking anywhere else around the venue is prohibited, and traffic is very heavy. Traffic updates are broadcast on FM Mikky (76.1 MHz) on the day.

Where do the shuttle buses leave from?

In 2026 a direct shuttle bus will run between the ACN golf tournament venue and the main venue. The fare and timetable have not yet been published.

Can I buy kitchen knives and carpentry tools?

Yes. Miki makers display and sell kitchen knives, circular saw blades, gardening tools, small blades, work tools, saws, chisels, planes and trowels directly. There is also a knife-sharpening corner.
