Why You Should Visit

The first large-scale exhibition to span the entire Ghost in the Shell anime franchise arrives at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art after its Tokyo run. More than 1,600 items — original drawings, setting materials and storyboards from the series directed by Mamoru Oshii, Kenji Kamiyama and others — trace how the world of the series was built. The Kansai leg adds material from the new 2026 anime Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL. A separate ticket is available for the AR experience Ghost in the Shell: Cyberbrain VISION.

FAQ

Do I need a timed-entry reservation?
Standard admission tickets are not timed, so you can enter any time during opening hours. Only the Cyberbrain VISION AR experience uses timed slots with limited capacity.
Can I visit with young children?
Preschool children enter free when accompanied by a ticket-holding guardian. Elementary school children pay ¥1,200 and junior high/high school students ¥1,900. The Cyberbrain VISION experience is for ages 13 and over.
Can I buy a ticket on the day?
Day tickets are sold at the venue window (adults ¥2,700). The window takes cash only, so buying the ¥2,500 advance ticket through a ticket agency is cheaper and offers more payment options.
When is it closed?
Closed on Mondays. When a Monday falls on a public holiday the exhibition opens that day and closes the following day instead.
