Why You Should Visit

A one-day Halloween event on the Sewaritei levee in Yodogawa River Park, Yawata, the long cherry-tree embankment that separates the Uji and Kizu rivers. Nicknamed "YAWAHALO!", it offers a big photo spot, a costume contest on stage, Halloween food, games such as super-ball scooping, and a corner where you can meet piglets. Entry is free, and the city encourages visitors to come in costume. The event is part of Yawata City's riverside "kawamachi" pilot to make more use of the waterfront, and it suits families who want to dress up and spend a few hours on the open riverbank.
