Why You Should Visit

A Culture Day gathering on Omaehama Beach in Nishinomiya, run by Team Omaehama & Koroenhama Satohama, a non-profit that looks after the shore. Spread across the wide sandy beach are hands-on workshops about the seaside environment, many with participation gifts or prizes. During the same hours, the interior of the Nishinomiya Battery, a national historic site in the park, opens to the public with talks by a curator from the Nishinomiya City Local History Museum. A good pick for families who want to play on the beach while learning about the sea and its wildlife, and for anyone curious about local history.

NOTE

Also on the day:

  • The Nishinomiya Battery (national historic site) opens its interior 13:00–16:00. Curator talks at 14:00 and 15:30; no booking needed
  • Visitors receive a "Collection Card: Nishinomiya Battery (National Historic Site)"

*The battery visit is cancelled in rain
