Nankai Train Festival 2026

Dates & time: October 31, 2026 (Sat) 10:00〜16:00（最終入場15:30）
Price & booking: Free entry. Fair games (bouncy-ball scooping, yo-yo fishing, ring toss) cost ¥200 per play. No advance registration is needed to enter. The special Series 6000 direct train from Namba (adults ¥2,500, children ¥1,000) and experiences such as overhead-line maintenance vehicle operation and kids' conductor required advance lottery entry via the Nankai app; applications have closed.
Venue & access: Nankai Chiyoda Works (Kawachinagano, Osaka) About a 10-minute walk from Chiyoda Station on the Nankai Koya Line. Free shuttle buses run regularly from Kawachi-Nagano Station (10:00–16:00). There is no parking at or near the venue.

Why You Should Visit

Nankai Electric Railway opens its Chiyoda Works to the public for this annual event tied to Japan's Railway Day. Watch a roughly 20-ton train car being lifted by crane, wheels being removed and rails being cut, and try operating a brake handle or raising a pantograph. Kids can hunt for station masters around the site or take on a quiz rally created by Wakayama University students. No advance registration is needed this year and entry is free (fair games cost ¥200 each). A good outing for families with young train fans.

No registration is needed to enter. The special direct train and some experiences were by advance lottery, and applications have closed.

Can I go by car?

There is no parking at or near the venue. Walk from Chiyoda Station or take the free shuttle bus from Kawachi-Nagano Station.

It goes ahead in rain and is cancelled in stormy weather. Outdoor activities may be cancelled if it rains.
