Why You Should Visit

A month-long event where you visit Kobe bakeries, buy French bread and collect digital stamps. The fourth edition in autumn 2026 covers 34 spots, including 31 shops and BE KOBE monuments. On November 7 a pop-up in Motomachi Shopping Street lets you taste baguettes from six bakeries side by side, followed by a talk with a baker and a pâtissier, a bus tour of a flour mill and bakery factory that are normally closed, and an exhibition of children's drawings. A good excuse to explore Kobe's bread scene, which grew up around the old port.

Joining is free. You earn a stamp by buying an eligible French bread item at a participating shop, so you pay for the bread. You can enter via the official website or the QR code on the flyer.
Can I pay cash at the Nov 7 tasting?
Payment is cashless only, including QR payments. The tasting set is limited to 200, and numbered tickets may be handed out to spread sales when it gets busy.
How do I apply for the bus tour?
Apply for the lottery on Kobe Tourism Bureau's booking site "Kobe no Tobira" by 23:59 on November 5. Results are emailed within 7 days of the deadline. There are 12 places, and the tour runs only if at least 10 people join.
Is it suitable for children?
Families can do the stamp rally together. The exhibition at KIITO on November 27–29 is free and shows drawings of "Kobe and French bread" by elementary and junior high students.
