Why You Should Visit

A walk-around music festival in Hirakata that has run since 2001. Over two days, 20-plus venues between Hirakata-koen and Hirakatashi Stations on the Keihan Line, plus the Miyanosaka area, host live sets centred on jazz but spanning many genres, in parks, public halls, a shopping centre and cafes. The 2026 edition is tied in with the city's chrysanthemum festival, and a market opens at Nippe Park Okahigashi-chuo on Nov 8. Watching is free; only cafe and restaurant venues ask for one order. Suited to anyone who likes to eat, drink and drift between stages along the old Hirakata-juku post town.
