Why You Should Visit

An open day at Osaka Detention House in Miyakojima Ward, held on Sunday, November 29, 2026. The Ministry of Justice says the program will be announced in stages. Last year's edition featured tours of the new inmate building, sales of prison-made goods, photo spots with kids' correctional officer uniforms, food trucks, and displays of police, fire and Self-Defense Force vehicles. It offers a rare look inside a detention facility and suits families as well.
