Why You Should Visit

On Halloween Saturday, Machi-no-Eki Crosspeer Kumiyama hosts an afternoon-into-evening "Crosspeer Market" with a Halloween and bon-odori twist. The stage runs from hula and kids' dance to singing and a manzai comedy duo, then the Yawata Bon Daiko group leads bon-odori dancing at 19:00 before a candy toss closes the night. Around 14 food vendors serve pizza, karaage, takoyaki, ramen and more, and there are body painting, shooting gallery and water-balloon yo-yo booths. A relaxed local option for families who want to spend Halloween in costume without heading into the city.
