Why You Should Visit

For three days, textile mills, sewing factories and workshops across Nishiwaki and Taka — the home of Banshu-ori weaving — open the doors they usually keep shut. Thirty-one businesses and groups take part, plus eight hands-on booths. Expect sewing-factory tours, workshops using Banshu-ori offcuts or Hyogo-grown thinned timber, and coffee at a roastery, all close to the people who make things here. Entry is free; the sites are scattered across both towns, so it works best as a day out by car, hopping between a few stops.
