1. Nadahama Ryokuchi (Nada Ward)

The highlight of Nadahama Ryokuchi is the striking combination of rapeseed flowers, Kawazu-zakura, and the red Hanshin Expressway pillars — a view you will not find anywhere else. Yellow and pink blooms with the red elevated road cutting through above creates a dynamic, industrial-yet-beautiful composition perfect for photography.
- Peak bloom: Late February to mid-March (varies year to year)
- Admission: Free

March 14 (Sat): “25th Nanohana Festival”
Running from 9:45 AM to 12:30 PM, this beloved community-organized festival features stage performances, food stalls, and games for children — all free to enter and watch. Born from the recovery efforts after the Great Hanshin Earthquake, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the event. No postponement in case of bad weather.

2. Kobe Sports Park · Cosmos Hill (Suma Ward)

Approximately 50,000 rapeseed plants blanket a 4,000-square-meter hillside here — one of Kobe’s most exhilarating spring displays. On a clear day, the contrast of yellow flowers against the blue sky is stunning. In autumn, the same hill transforms with around 100,000 cosmos in bloom. The subway stop is right at the park entrance, making it easy to reach for families and couples.
- Peak bloom: Early to mid-March
- Admission: Free
- Access: Steps from Kobe Municipal Subway “Sogo Undo Koen” Station
- Parking: Available (paid)
March 21 (Sat): “Nanohana Festival & Nanohana Marché”
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The program includes an outdoor live concert, stamp rally, free herbal tea service, and food trucks — a full day of activities. Rain date: March 22 (Sun). Decision announced by 3:00 PM on March 20 (Fri) on the official website.

3. Saigo River Estuary Park (Higashinada Ward)
A tranquil park where the Saigo River meets the sea in Higashinada Ward. Each spring, rapeseed flowers bloom along the riverbank, creating a calm, unhurried atmosphere enjoyed by local residents on their daily walks. With few tourists, it is an ideal spot for those who want to enjoy the flowers at their own pace.
- Peak bloom: Early to mid-March
- Admission: Free
- Access: About 10 min walk from Hanshin Uozaki Station
- Parking: None
- Festival: None
Both Nadahama Ryokuchi (Hanshin Oishi Station) and this park are along the same Hanshin Railway line, making it easy to visit both in one trip.
