Kobe Sports Park Nanohana Festival 2026 | 50,000 Rapeseed Flowers in Bloom

Rapeseed flowers are now in full bloom at Cosmos Hill in Kobe Sports Park, located in Suma Ward. The sweeping yellow hillside against the blue sky is one of Kobe’s most spectacular spring sights.

Cosmos Hill Rapeseed Flowers 2026

The rapeseed field stretching across a 4,000-square-meter hillside is breathtaking on a sunny day — a vivid yellow carpet beneath a clear blue sky. Three varieties — Hanana Kanzaki, Hanana 88, and Kinki Hanana — total approximately 50,000 plants in full bloom together. In autumn, the same hill transforms into a sea of about 100,000 cosmos flowers.

From the subway station, head toward Universiade Memorial Stadium and climb the slope (Universiade slope) just before the stadium to reach Cosmos Hill — a few minutes’ walk. Families and couples flock here on weekends.

March 21 (Sat): Nanohana Festival

Timed to coincide with the peak bloom, the “Nanohana Festival” is planned for Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Organized by the Cosmos Hill Community Volunteers, the event has a warm, neighborhood feel.

Event Program

• Nanohana Live (starts 11:00 AM) An outdoor concert on Cosmos Hill. Performances by various artists expected.
• Nanohana Stamp Rally Collect stamps while exploring the park. Complete it and win a prize.
• Activity Corner Coloring, origami, magnetic fishing, and bubble blowing for kids.
• Free Herbal Tea Service Take a breather with a cup of complimentary original herbal tea.

Rapeseed Lei Workshop (Charm-Up Seminar)

Make a lei — the Hawaiian flower garland — using actual rapeseed flowers.
