Why You Should Visit
A handmade community event at Jokoji, a temple in Kakogawa, combining a marché with bon dancing. Under the theme "eat, play, and dance—for grown-ups and kids alike," gentle food stalls serve domestic-wheat bagels, Indian biryani, rice-flour bread, and soy gapao rice, alongside shops offering African handmade goods and ear-acupressure jewelry. Kids run their own stalls too, including keychain-making and a shooting gallery, making it an easy day out for families. You don't have to wait for the Obon season to join the bon dance—first-timers and those without a yukata are welcome, and a paid yukata-dressing service (reservation required) is available. Admission is free, there is parking for 40+ cars and a dining space, and the event runs rain or shine.
