Why You Should Visit

A seasonal flower garden near the castle town of Tamba-Sasayama. Across roughly 15,000 m², some 100,000 lilies of about 60 varieties bloom in relay — early, mid and late season — alongside around 1,000 hydrangeas. The grounds also hold Tamamizu, a city-designated historic spring that once fed Sasayama Castle's well. Lily bulbs, potted plants, cut flowers and local specialties are on sale, and the garden pairs nicely with a stroll through the old castle town.

When are the lilies at their best?

Early, mid and late varieties bloom in succession, so there are flowers at their peak throughout the season (June 12–July 5). Hydrangeas peak from mid to late June.
