Kissaten Cafuné opens (Aug 17, 2026)

Cafuné, a small coffee-and-toast kissaten, opened on August 17, 2026 just south of the red torii in Honjo-cho, about five minutes on foot south of Hanshin Fukae Station. It took over the former Karaoke Snack Hana as-is: the chairs and tables stayed, the counter was re-skinned in wood grain and the lighting replaced. There are no windows, so you cannot see in from the street. The menu is deliberately short — coffee, tea, café au lait, three juices and four kinds of toast (butter, jam, cheese, egg). The owner has a wheat allergy, so the bread is rice-flour loaf. Morning toast is a standard thick slice; after 11:00 it switches to two thinner, smaller slices. The name is Portuguese for the gesture of gently stroking a loved one's hair. Open 7:30–16:00 on weekdays and 7:30–11:00 (breakfast only) on Saturdays; closed Sundays.
