Why You Should Visit
A spring festival held at the historic Ikuno Silver Mine, when cherry blossoms and rhododendrons blanket the surrounding hills. The signature attraction is the All Japan Trolley Strength Championship, where competitors load a real mine cart with weights and pull it as far as they can — a simple but intense contest that was even featured on the hit TV show Itte Q!. Running alongside it, the Tajima Umya-mon Food Festival, organized mainly by young locals from Ikuno, brings together popular food stalls including ramen shops from Osaka. A full day of Hyogo food and culture. Free to attend.
