Saigogawa Kakou Park: Things to See & Do

Though small, this park at the mouth of the Saigo River offers a rare floral combination in spring that's hard to find elsewhere in Kobe. Early spring brings the contrast of pink kawazu cherry blossoms against yellow rapeseed flowers, joined by 265 snow willows in white bloom for a triple collaboration. In April, Somei Yoshino cherries add to the scene, wrapping the area in cherry pink. Locals bring food for hanami, young people play basketball, and children play on the equipment — a true neighborhood park.
